Why Does Your Dump Body Get Bulgier as It Runs?
Column: NEWS Release Time: 2026.05.15

Running dump trucks in Xizang for just two or three years, the cargo body easily deforms:

Bulging body: Side panels bulge outward and never retract after unloading, causing constant annoyance.

Sagging floor: The middle of the floor sinks down, forcing only 70% load capacity when carrying rocks.

Cracking: Welds crack repeatedly — repair work becomes more frequent than actual transportation.

It’s not worn out by use; it’s flawed in structural design.

Side Panel: Bulging Starts with Cross Beams

Ordinary design: One-piece rolled full cross beams plus welded vertical beams.

Vertical beams are merely welded on, lacking enough lateral support under heavy load.

Side panels bulge under stress, fail to rebound, and welds crack easily.

SUNHUNK design: Side panels adopt extended full-width cross beams widened together with main plates, beam size upgraded from 170mm to 270mm.

The full-length cross beams act like a firm waist support, holding side panels tightly against bulging and cracking.

270mm full-length cross beams = drastically reduced bulging risk.

Floor Frame: Sagging Depends on Longitudinal Beams

Ordinary design: No longitudinal beams, or only two simple L-shaped beams.

Without integrated floor frame and sufficient cross support, the floor sags and deforms easily under heavy load.

SUNHUNK design: High-strength four-longitudinal-beam floor frame with 120mm frame height.

Four longitudinal beams support the floor evenly at every stress point.

The 120mm frame height delivers strong anti-bending performance, fully adaptable to sand quarries, mines and construction sites.

Four longitudinal beams + 120mm high frame = rigid floor, resistant to sagging and impact.

Floor Cracking: Welds Bear the Most Stress Where Beams Are Missing

Ordinary design: Only a few small cross beams around the hinge base, leaving other areas unsupported.

During lifting, stress concentrates entirely on welds near the hinge base, leading to frequent cracking.

SUNHUNK design: Innovative flared beam structure, increasing bearing area by 27%.

Flared beams disperse stress from the hinge base to the whole rear floor.

The entire frame bears load together, so welds no longer endure stress alone.

Flared beam + 27% larger bearing area = greatly reduced weld cracking.

Three Key Questions When Choosing a Dump Body

How high are the side cross beams? Are they full-length?

How many longitudinal beams under the floor? What is the frame height?

Are there flared reinforcing beams around the hinge base?

SUNHUNK’s standard answer:

270mm full-length cross beams, four longitudinal beams with 120mm frame height, flared beams with 27% increased bearing area.

Only with correct structure can your dump body serve you much longer.
